In globish please !

The collective had joined a european project : HOTEL OBSCURA, proposed by Katerina Kokkinos-Kennedy from Triage based in Melbourne.

4 countries in association to create a performance about intimity and travel in a real hotel in is own country and imagine a training program. Australia with Triage, Greece represented by Ohi Pezoume Performing Art in Athens, Austria with Die Fabrikanten in Linz and the French Team composed by GK, La Transplanisfère and La Folie Kilomètre between Paris and Marseille.

We met each other in Montpellier on the occasion of IETM, in April 2014 to start the work with a meeting partner.

With Gabriella Cserhati from the GK, we went one week in Athens in september to participate to the greek workshop. She proposed an Hidden Theater experience during the « Dourgouti Island Hotel » festival. And I drawn a sensitive map of the district for La Folie Kilomètre.

It was a way to encountered us to work together later, because the French Team decided to make a co-creation for Hotel Obscura.

It was a huge moment shared with Dourgouti neighborhood, to discover Athens and to feel the greek energy… Dourgouti is the imaginary name of a set of buildings in Neos Kosmos area. The particularity of Dourgouti is the blind crossover between a rich neighborhood, immigrant history and population and the Intercontinental Hotel.

We have a lot of pleasure to participate to the festival who was a two-day outdoors local creative-works festival happening on the 27th & 28th of September.

It involved more than 20 creative groups that include youth centers, volunteer centers, houses of the elderly, capoera and dance groups, armenian and albanian community centers, municipal centers, schools, boyscouts etc. The festival include theatre, dance, exhibition, walks, music all inspired by the yesterday, today or tomorrow of the neighborhood.

This project was about urban solitude in general, not about a specific pathology of Dourgouti.

Katrinamuri, a visual artist from Austria was invited too, a very nice performer met in « the Hilton », a building of Dourgouti where you can listen music in the elevator.

I experimented a night in the Intercontinental **** of Dourgouti. I cheked in with my backpack with daily closes. Really strange to feel how the rooms are another worlds so near from the local festival. It’s a theater of mondial travelling, cut from the ground – turned towads Acropolis. A lot of ideas for the creation of the French Hotel Obscura.

We are thankfull to Georges and Irini and all Ohi Pezoume team to invited us ! It was great !
